It's a common question when you're shipping a heavy lot: Media Mail is cheap, so can a box of cards go that way? No. Trading cards don't qualify for USPS Media Mail.
What Media Mail is for
USPS Media Mail is restricted to educational and media materials: books, sound recordings, recorded video, printed music, printed educational charts, and computer-readable media, among a few others. Trading cards, including Pokémon, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh! and sports cards, are collectibles, not books or recorded media, so they aren't eligible. Neither are booster boxes or other sealed product.
What happens if you use it anyway
Media Mail packages can be opened and inspected. If USPS finds ineligible contents, the package can be returned to you or delivered with postage due charged to the recipient. Either one means an unhappy buyer and a possible bad review or claim. It isn't worth the saving.
What to use instead
