TCGplayer's fees are simple once you see them written out, but they catch new sellers in two places: the commission is charged on shipping too, and the flat $0.30 per order eats a big share of small orders. Rates below are from TCGplayer's fee page as of September 26, 2026.
The short answer
If you're a Level 1-4 marketplace seller (most sellers are), each order costs:
- Marketplace commission: 10.75% of the items and the shipping the buyer paid. The commission on items is capped at $75 per product sold; shipping has no cap.
- Transaction fee: 2.5% of the order total + $0.30. The order total includes sales tax. International orders pay 3.5% + $0.30.
On a normal order that adds up to roughly 13.5-15% of what the buyer paid for cards and shipping. On a $1 card it's closer to 30%, because of the fixed $0.30.

Commission and Pro fees are charged on items and shipping, with the $75-per-product cap on items only. Non-US sellers paid through PayPal also pay a 2% payout fee, capped at $20. TCGplayer is changing how Direct fees work from June 18, 2026; if you're in Direct, check the fee page for the new item-based structure.

The $65.31 order is TCGplayer's own example: $7.02 commission on the card, $0.11 on shipping, and a $2.07 transaction fee (2.5% of $70.94, plus $0.30). The $1,000 card shows the cap: commission stops at $75, so the percentage drops.
How to keep more of each sale
- Get buyers to combine orders. The $0.30 is charged per order, not per card, so five cards in one order pay it once.
- Price shipping knowing it's taxed by the commission. 10.75% of the shipping goes to TCGplayer, so $0.99 shipping only brings you about $0.88 before postage.
- Check your very cheap listings. A $0.25 card with $0.99 shipping pays $0.47 in fees and leaves $0.77 to cover a stamp, a sleeve and a toploader. Selling bulk as lots is often better.
